I hope you are all having a great day and the children are having fun with books today.
The Jellyfish hasn't gone to school in costume this year as each class was given a particular author or book as a theme and The Jellyfish's class could go as either a gorilla or a banana. I didn't have either of those costumes lying around at home and with two days notice, I wasn't going to make one (as if I could). So she took a toy gorilla with her instead. Except I realised this morning it wasn't a gorilla at all but a chimp. Oh well. She took it anyway.

And what are you reading at the moment?
I'm reading The Ugly Sister by Jane Fallon and have almost finished.
A chimp or a banana? Whoever thinks of these outfits either has never had to produce them, or must be incredibly inventive. I had to produce a victorian outfit overnight once, thankfully my daughter was happy to go as a hangman and dressed from head to foot in black.
ReplyDeleteThat annoys me more than anything - the lack of notice.
ReplyDeleteI saw a photo on twitter of one school where the children decorated paper crowns with characters from books, which I think is a much better idea - more creative for the children and less stress for the parents. Everyone can join in then.
