A-Z of Writing - C

Chick Lit is what I write. Some people think it's a dirty, shameful word but I love it - both writing and reading it. I love to escape in a fun, often frivalous book. Chick Lit isn't all shopping and designer handbags - although some of it is and if that is what you enjoy reading, who has the right to judge you?

My blog started off with the name mamajheartschicklit (because I do) but I streamlined it a few months ago. I have started to dip my toe into other genres but Chick Lit will always be The One for me.

What genre do you read/write?

  2. There are some great stories in chick lit! I've had my eyes opened to it recently by another author, Kyra Lennon. I was a bit snobby about it before but that was wrong.

  4. I'm more of a dark, steamy, or funny sci-fi and fantasy kinda girl, but there's a place on the shelf for everyone. :)

    1. I do give other genres an occasional go (except horror. Never horror) but chick lit is my favourite.

  5. I love suspense novels. I like a good chick lit book every now and then too, though. :) I am not a writer. . . . Thanks for stopping by my blog during the A to Z challenge! Have fun!

  6. I love all kinds of books - including chick lit. Especially if there is a house in it. I love nest building. I also love mysteries with a female 'detective'. I'm especially in love with books by Louise Penny, Jacqueline Winspear and Laurie R King. I am a retired librarian and being a Reader's Advisor was one of my great pleasures.

  9. I write all sorts of things - chick lit, YA, mystery, and horror topping the list. When you aren't published yet, you can do whatever you want ;)

    1. I think you've found the one plus of being unpublished - the freedom to write whatever you want.

  10. I like chick-lit if it has a strong romantic plot. A lot of ppl who like clean romance read chick lit w/ strong romance because it's cleaner than genre romance.
